Dados Sobre o Projeto

The study focused on eight satellite lakes, five and three from Victoria and Kyoga lake basins respectively.

Título Fish species of selected water bodies in Uganda
Descrição da Área de Estudo The study focused on eight satellite lakes, five and three from Victoria and Kyoga lake basins respectively.
Descrição do Design The representative dominant taxa for the analysis of trophic levels and potential food sources were collected from 2 to 6 pre-selected sites at various distances from the shoreline to the open water of each of the sampled lakes between August 2001 and August 2003. Detailed information on sampling design is available in Mbabazi (2004). Sampling was conducted in selected sites in the Lake Victoria and Kyoga basins.

O pessoal envolvido no projeto:

Dismas Mbabazi

Métodos de Amostragem

Sampling was conducted parallel to the shoreline off each dominant vegetation type. For each habitat type, sampling was done within 20 m from the shore and beyond, between 20m and about 70 m away from the shoreline. Fish was captured using gillnets and basket traps set overnight. Complete details of sampling are available in Balirwa (1998).

Área de Estudo The study considered selected lakes between 2001 and 2003
Controle de Qualidade All scientific names were validated using FishBase (Froese & Pauly, 2018).

Descrição dos passos do método:

  1. All scientific names were validated using FishBase (Froese & Pauly, 2018).
